Renewed Commerce Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL): Economic Focus

23 April 2024

A cura di: Andrea Di Nino

On March the 22nd 2024, the commerce collective bargaining agreement, relating to companies operating in the tertiary, commerce, and service sectors was renewed.

The renewal agreement, expected since 2019, updates numerous provisions of the CCNL, such as personnel classification and policies related to gender equality and combating violence against women, and introduces new ones, such as the causal factors to be used for managing fixed-term employment relationships.

The changes concerning the economic part of the new contract are also very important.

A series of gradual increases to minimum wages for each classification level will be introduced from now until 2027, in addition to the implementation of a one-time payment divided into two installments, one in July of this year and another in July 2025.

In addition to the wage increases, which, it should be noted, may be absorbed by any higher minimums enjoyed by workers subject to certain specific conditions, an increase in the company’s contribution for supplementary health assistance to the EST fund has also been provided. The increase will be €3 per month for each employee and will therefore bring the total monthly contribution borne by the employer to €13.
